It is a beautiful natural area, such as the Information Board indicates:

“The brick manufacturing has left its marks. Apart from the old ovens (still there but no longer in use) there are the vegetated ponds that recall these old times.

There are small and large clay pits or in Dutch “tichelgaten” which originated in winning clay.”

I have been in this area very often and you will see many photos taken in this area by using the menu option “IJssel area” and by using the menu option “Birds”. All the photos of the kingfisher have been taken in this area.

It's definitely worth visiting this natural area. You can go walking and enjoy the floodplains of the IJssel, the views and tranquility.
