This beautiful nature reserve along the IJssel is a special area.

The information board states:

"It is a floodplain of the river the IJssel. Here is the result of a unique nature development project: the first secondary income channel of the IJssel.

A project in which the river and nature have more space.

Through the secondary channel river water can now flow through the area. This means additional water storage.

Currents and changing water levels create dynamism, with its unique variety of plant and animal species. That means, more space for nature"

I have been in this area very often and you will see many photos taken in this area by using the menu option “IJssel area” and by using the menu option “Birds”.
