Equipment

Photo equipment

Choosing the equipment I take with me often depends on the goal I want to achieve.

Do I want to make a long walk and getting impressions by making landscape photographs or do I commit myself by making photos of birds or doing Macro photography.

It is always difficult to choose but fortunately I can take a lot of stuff in my backpack.

The backpack is a “Lowepro Nature AWII”. It's a fine backpack because I can change the format so I can take each of my lenses neatly protected with me. Besides taking my lenses, there is room enough for taking sandwiches, drinks and handy  things like plastic bag, aspirin, plasters and so on. (important are also spare batteries, memory cards and various filters)

I use the following equipment:

Nikon D700 digital camera

  1. Standard zoom lens Nikkor AF-S 24-70mm F 2.8 G ED
  2. Zoom lens Nikkor AF-S 18-35mm f/3.5 - f/4.5 G IF-ED
  3. Macro lens Nikkor AF-S VR 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED
  4. Super fixed focal lens Nikkor AF-S 300mm f/2.8 G IF-ED VR
  5. Nikon TC-17 Teleconverter 1.7x II
  6. Nikon TC-20 Teleconverter 2.0x II
  7. Metz 15 MS-1 Digital Mecablitz (Macro Flash)

A tripod, indispensable part of my equipment, a Manfrotto 055 XDB tripod with a Manfrotto 804 RC2 head.

I’m making photos just for three years and I’m still learning and always curious how the results will be. Did I succeed in capturing the moments I encounter and how can I make you part of that moment so you can share that while looking on my website.

I use photo software to process and judge all the photos. I import the photos into Lightroom (Version 3.4.1) and then export the photos into Adobe Photoshop Elements where I categorize all photos by topic. The best photos are presented on my website.

Photography is a wonderful hobby and I have a lot to learn. I therefore welcome the comments and critics from visitors to my website.

I hope you are able to enjoy my hobby for a long time.
