News, 27th of January 2012
So far, it’s not the winter we expected in the Netherlands. The weather in December and January was more like autumn and with all the rain and stormy winds I had little chance to go out.
Fortunately it seems that we are going to get a frost period. Hopefully long enough to get the chance to go out and make nice winter photos.
In November the weather was better and that gave me the opportunity for exploring a new area. I wasn’t there before and it’s part of the Veluwe and it lies between Heerde and Epe.
The Renderklippen consist of heathery moraines formed by glaciers.
The forests consist largely of conifers. I will visit this beautiful area more often because I really want to try to shoot some photos of the deer and wild boars.
I also walked another old route at Vaassen. Starting at the castle of Cannenburgh you can follow the ‘Molenbeekroute’. A beautiful area with beautiful streams and springs.
The springs are often orange. It is rich of iron. Once the water comes to the surface, the dissolved iron reacts with the oxygen.
It is an area with lots of variety. So you'll pass through dense forests, old ancient barrows, moorland and along meadows and beautiful farms.
The following slide show contains a selection of new photos I added to the website. I wish you much pleasure while viewing the photos.
To view all the new photos you can find these under the following menu options:
1. Impressions - Gelderland
2. Impressions - Overijssel

Best wishes,
Paul
