Intro

The IJssel area

The IJssel arises from the river the Rhine starting in Westervoort (Province Gelderland) and ends in the “Ketelmeer” and finally in the IJsselmeer.

There are beautiful cities along the IJssel including Zutphen, Deventer and Kampen.

Zwolle is strictly not located along the IJssel but along the Black water but it is still seen as a IJssel city.  For me Zwolle is located close enough along the IJssel so that within a fifteen minute walk I can enjoy the beautiful floodplains of the IJssel.

There are beautiful areas like the ‘Vreugderijkerwaard” , “Het Engelse werk”,  “Windesheim” and “the Duursche waarden”.
